SHIFT Campaign: Towards Sustainable Development

The primary motivation behind this project was to empower youth to take pride in their Bhutanese language and cultural heritage while aligning their efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals. By creating engaging platforms for learning and expression, the program aimed to inspire young people to become active custodians of culture, fostering unity, identity, and a sense of responsibility toward building sustainable communities.

The SHIFT Campaign was executed successfully by six student leaders who ensured smooth facilitation and the event was conducted in alignment with the objectives of preserving Bhutanese language and cultural identity, while also fostering creativity, collaboration, and youth leadership. The program was implemented effectively, meeting its goals of promoting cultural awareness and active youth involvement in sustainable community development.

Through the SHIFT Campaign, participants gained valuable knowledge about Bhutanese traditions, language, and cultural identity while developing critical skills such as teamwork, communication, and creativity. Encouraged youth to reflect importance of cultural preservation in today’s changing world, while also strengthening their confidence and leadership abilities. The experience demonstrated how youth-led initiatives can effectively link cultural pride with sustainable community development.
