SCOUTS ENHANCING REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SUPPORT

We were convinced to undertake this project after witnessing how many young people in Tanzania struggle silently with reproductive health challenges, often lacking guidance, accurate information, or safe spaces to talk. This inspired us, as Scouts, to take action and fulfill our duty to serve and educate youth. Our goal was to empower young people with knowledge, confidence, and practical skills, helping them make healthy choices and contribute positively to their communities.
The project was executed through a series of youth-focused workshops and sessions across Tanzania. Scouts, health experts, and volunteers facilitated interactive discussions on reproductive health, using storytelling, and games to engage participants. Health services, counseling, and educational materials were provided, creating safe spaces where young people could learn, ask questions, and access support.
Through this project, we learned the importance of creating safe, youth-friendly spaces for open discussions on reproductive health. We saw how peer-led activities and interactive methods increase engagement and understanding. We also realized the value of collaboration between Scouts, schools, parents, and health professionals in empowering young people to make informed, healthy choices.
