Scouts classic ball for youth

For the 19th year now National Scout Organisation’s Mykolaiv Regional Department of Ukraine holds a classic ball for youth. The event is traditionally celebrated in December. This year’s ball was held on the 22nd of December.

The young people came to the ball dressed up accordingly: the boys were wearing formal suits, while the girls were dressed up in fancy dresses. Many of them wore masquerade masks, which are an integral part of the ball.

This year’s ball was very popular among the youth, which has lead to 200 people showing up and barely fitting into the spacious hall of the Russian theatre.

This event is being organized to show the youth of Nikolaev and its region what a ball is, so that they can feel the emotions and manners peculiar to the ball. It is a cultural and aesthetic development of youth.

Throughout the evening the ball’s participants were learning new dance moves of various nations across the world, took part in contests, had a lively chat during the breaks and, obviously, have been working on their waltz skill. The event ended in picking the King and the Queen of the ball.
