Rocklands PS reading brings hope
The project at Rocklands Primary aimed to make reading a fun and engaging experience while developing literacy skills. The Yeboneers wanted learners to feel empowered, build confidence, and appreciate the value of reading and teamwork.
Learners participated in reading, dictionary exercises, writing, and creative storytelling. Yeboneers and YeboScouts encouraged participation, critical thinking, and imagination, while addressing literacy gaps and promoting collaboration.
The adventure highlighted the importance of engaging all learners, even those with different reading levels. Yeboneers learned to adapt instruction, foster a supportive environment, and build learners’ confidence through interactive literacy experiences.
