Pedal for the Planet – Cycle Hike 2026
The project was inspired by the visionary initiative of our CEO Sir to promote environmental awareness, community service, and social responsibility among students. The growing pollution and plastic waste around water bodies motivated us to take action. Through this Cycle Hike and Lake Cleaning Drive, we aimed to instill the values of service, teamwork, environmental protection, and responsible citizenship in our Scouts and Guides.
The project was executed by organizing a Cycle Hike to Madipakkam Lake, involving 25 Scouts and Guides under the guidance of unit leaders. The participants cleaned the lake surroundings, collected and segregated plastic waste, and created awareness among the local community about protecting water bodies. The activity promoted teamwork, discipline, environmental responsibility, and the Scouting value of “Service to Mankind.”
Through this project, we learned that small collective actions can create meaningful environmental impact. We understood the importance of keeping water bodies clean, reducing plastic pollution, and encouraging community participation. The activity strengthened our teamwork, leadership, discipline, and communication skills. Most importantly, we learned that protecting nature is everyone’s responsibility and that service to society begins with individual commitment.
