Nomsa Maphongwana PS: Literacy with Confidence
The project aimed to give learners a solid foundation in reading and understanding, while building confidence to read aloud in front of peers. The adventure also sought to instill a love of literacy and foster self-assurance.
Learners engaged in reading, writing, summarizing stories, and practicing language skills. Yeboneers guided learners with patience and encouragement, promoting comprehension, creative expression, and participation even on challenging days.
The adventure showed that consistent support improves literacy and confidence. Limited resources can be overcome through teamwork and creativity. Yeboneers learned the importance of patience, encouragement, and structured guidance, while learners developed reading comprehension, vocabulary, and self-expression skills.
