Montague Drive PS building a reading community

This project aimed to strengthen literacy skills while giving learners the confidence to explore reading independently. Yeboneers sought to provide creative literacy activities and foster teamwork, even with limited access to resources.
Learners engaged in reading, writing, and comprehension exercises under Yeboneers’ guidance. Limited access required adaptations to ensure learners still benefited from the activities.
The experience reinforced the importance of flexibility and creative problem-solving in literacy projects. Yeboneers observed that learners benefit from encouragement, structured activities, and opportunities to explore reading in a supportive setting.
