Education For Brighter Future
In my community, many students and scouts come from underprivileged households where parents lack the resources to provide basic school supplies. Living on less than $1 per day, these families often cannot support their children’s education fully. Without the necessary materials, students struggle to participate in class, which leads to poor academic performance, higher dropout rates, and a greater risk of early marriage among girls.
Using a scout donation platform and a GoFundMe page, I raised funds to provide school supplies to 1,500 scouts and students. Alongside this, we offered career guidance and mentorship, which instilled hope and encouraged students to remain in school despite challenges. The initiative has led to noticeable improvements in academic performance, and parents have expressed appreciation for the results.
I learnt that small resources remove big barriers, notebooks, pens, and basic supplies seem small, but for students living on less than $1 a day, they determine whether you can participate in class or not. I learned that addressing these practical gaps quickly unlocks engagement and performance. I also learnt that Hope and direction matter as much as physical resources. When students see a path forward, they are more likely to push through challenges.
