Combating Plastic Pollution on Lake Victoria - A Call to Action

Single-use Plastic pollution has posed a significant threat to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. This project seeks to mitigate these impacts, foster environmental stewardship, and contribute to global sustainability efforts through raising awareness and promoting action, by involving the collective engagement of individuals and organizations in creating a meaningful change and bring back the face of the earth.

Through partnership and collaboration with Osiepe Sango team, under the Blue Planet Warriors, we had a call-to-action awareness campaign against single-use plastic pollution together with a clean-up activity, at Asat Beach, in Lake Victoria, Kisumu County, during the World Environment Day 2025, which brought along more than 80 participants from schools, rover scouts from Kisumu Cou ty and some few scout leaders , together with Osiepe Sango team.

Plastic pollution is becoming a global menace. The rate of production is exceedingly higher than the rate of reuse and recycling Plastic pollution can be managed and won with time as long as the measures put in place are implemented
