Active scouts during punakha moenlam chenmo
Each year, the Moenlam Chenmo is held in every Dzongkhag, and during the Punakha event, I joined 51 scouts as part of the waste management team. People stay for the entire event, and waste tends to be discarded wherever food and drinks are consumed, making the area unhygienic and a potential health hazard. I was inspired by the dedication of the seniors, who worked without complaint. Our main goal was to keep the area clean and comfortable for those seeking blessings.
It took place in Punakha, Bhutan. To make our work successful, firstly the scouts cooperated well. We divided among ourselves into five groups to go in each place to collect the waste. Four groups went for waste picking while one group went to collect waste from the dustbins and also helping old people and other officals. We helped children who were lost find their parents. We also cleaned the streams and river near by during our break.
I learned or developed leadership qualities. I learnt values of friendship between the scouts while working together. I even learned more about the event which is an important part of bhutanese culture
