3R DAS CORES NA ESCOLA

In 2023, three Cub Scouts realized that crayons were fragile and easily broken, and were soon discarded each semester. Motivated to change this, they created the "3Rs of Colors" project, based on collecting and reusing crayons. Even after the project ended, they continued to receive crayons, which led them to develop the "3Rs of Colors at School" program to support public school children with school crayon kits.
The "3Rs of Colors at School" project sought to raise awareness about the proper disposal and recycling of crayons. After community mobilization and the creation of collectors, 35 kg of crayons were collected and recycled into approximately 350 kits. The kits were delivered to the Professora Ana Cristina Rolim Machado Elementary School, benefiting approximately 350 students, including 52 children with disabilities.
The project collected approximately 35 kg of crayons, resulting in 350 recycled kits. It was learned that the ideal collection period is after school holidays and that this material is largely discarded in private schools, although it can be reused by low-income children in public schools. Based on this, the campaign will be maintained and intensified at the end of the year, aiming to expand its social and environmental impact.
