32 Scouts from the Oyo State Scout Council on 22nd and 23rd of September, 2017 were trained on the Messengers of Peace Initiative at L.A. primary School, Isale Taba, Saki in commemoration of the 2017 International Peace Day celebrations that was held at Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki on the 21st September 2017. The 2 days training was conducted by Solomon Etim, the Secretary of the African Scout Youth Forum with support from Mr Fatope Olusegun and Mr Matthew Oladeji (JP) the State Scout Commissioner and the Rector of the Polytechnic respectively. The Training identified the major definitions of Peace, factors that support and also hinder peace in the community as well as actions to be taken by scouts and non-scouts in driving a lasting solution to the challenges identified. After a successful training, about 15 scout were registered on scout.org and also pledged to promote the initiative within and outside the polity.
