On 21st September,2024 a group of dedicated scouts embarked on a historical hike to Dungkhar Goenpa, following ancient trial signs that speak to the rich cultural heritage of our region: the hike aimed to foster teamwork, appreciation for history, and spiritual growth among the scouts. The scouts gathered early in the morning at the school grounds. Safety briefings and a discussion on the significance of the Dungkhar Goenpa were held. The hike commenced at 6.40 am, with scouts following the marked trails leading to Dungkhar Goenpa. Scouts learned about the historical significance of the trail and its importance to the local community. The serene environment and stunning views created a perfect backdrop for reflection and appreciation of nature. The scouts were honored to receive blessings from Dungkhar Khenpo, who welcomed us with warm words of encouragement and even gave us the Baza Guru lung. The Khenpo shared insights on the significance of the site and the importance of respect for nature and cultural heritage. A short prayer and blessing ceremony was held, where the scouts expressed their gratitude and commitment to preserving the values taught by the Khenpo. After the blessing, scouts participated in cleaning the campus around the Goenpa. The event concluded with a shared meal, fostering camaraderie and bonding among the scouts.
