Sustainable Community
We were deeply moved by the noticeable lack of proper care at Iyanga Market, a vital and bustling hub for our community. Our core motivation was to improve public health and well-being by undertaking a thorough cleanup. By leading this effort, we could not only make the market significantly cleaner but also inspire a greater sense of pride and collective responsibility in maintaining a healthy environment for everyone who uses it.
On the last Saturday of January, our dedicated Scout leaders and boys successfully cleaned Iyanga Market. We started at 7:00 AM and finished by 8:00 AM, making significant progress both inside and around the market. The community's gratitude for our efforts was truly rewarding.
This experience taught us the power of collective action. We saw firsthand how much a small group of dedicated individuals could accomplish in a short time. The positive response from the community reinforced the importance of taking care of our shared spaces. We also learned that even a little effort from everyone can make a big difference in creating a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
