Spreading Peace through OHS Conference
A total of 1560 ECE Teachers, 39 Ministry of Education Officials and 1 Facilitator participated in the ECE OHS National Conference that was held at Tilak High School, Lautoka. The goal for OHS (Occupational, Health and Safety) is to ensure that the people living and dealing within a particular area are safe.
I had been given the opportunity to assist the Facilitator in conducting the Conference. The most fascinating part of this conference was when I had demonstrated the MOP initials to the participants and told them about spreading peace and its importance in Scouting.
The participants responded by demonstrating the MOP hand initial (flying dove). I also told them to go back in their schools and spread peace with the pre-schoolers by creating a hazard free learning environment for them which allows them to attain peace and serenity. (linked with the goal of OHS)
I requested the Ministry of Education Personnel s' to show MOP through hand initials. The following people were involved:
1. SEO National OHS and First Aid Trainer - Mr Veer Chand
2. Director Primary -Mr Hem Chand
3. SEO- System Analyst and Research
4. ECE Teachers
5. Other helpers
