Small Act, Big Impact: Hand Hygiene for All
Our motivation was to raise awareness about the importance of proper handwashing in preventing diseases and maintaining good health. As Rover Scouts of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, India, we aimed to encourage healthy hygiene habits, promote community well-being, and contribute to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) through awareness and action.
Our Rover Scouts celebrated Global Handwashing Day on 15 October 2026 by spreading awareness about proper handwashing techniques and the importance of using soap and clean water. Through demonstrations and awareness messages, we encouraged people to adopt good hygiene practices and contribute to a healthier community.
Through this project, our Rover Scouts learned the importance of proper hand hygiene in preventing diseases and maintaining good health. We developed communication, teamwork, and community awareness skills while understanding how small daily habits can create a positive impact. The initiative strengthened our commitment to public health, cleanliness, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
