The Reading Retreat Program 2019.

The Reading Retreat Program 2019 is the fourth time being organised. The program is a initiative of teachers of Lobesa Lower Secondary School supported by around 49 volunteers. For this year, there were 233 participants from 34 schools and 12 Dzongkhags around the country. The program happened for a week at Dashiding Autonomous School, Punakha. The program aimed at instilling the reading habit for the young minds. They were engaged in different sessions throughout the week. We had guest speaker who all were enthusiatic readers and writers. Participants also took part in cultural activities, games activities and morning excercises too. 

Furthermore, to instill the sense of responsibility and community services, there was a trip made to Wangdue Phodrang Dzong Reconstruction Site where the participants helped in loading rocks slabs. They also made a visit to the main temple of the dzong. The program successfully ended with awarding of certificates by the guest of honour HE Lyonpo Tandin Dorji.
