Re-Forestation of the Nokuse Plantation in Northwest Florida
Cub Scout Pack 787 with Volunteer Leader and Scout Parents worked with the Nokuse Plantation to replant 3000 native sand pine trees to reforest old turpentine tree areas that were sold and cut to timber companies. Our work is to replant and save the watershed areas that runs into the Choctawhatchee River Basin and Bay. Our goal is to set the new growth of trees for generations to come to save our basin from un-needed top soil run off into the basin. Our Scouts with Parents working with naturalist and forestry specialist to restore areas of the Northwest wetlands and forest to regrow habits for nature and restore the native tress of Northwest Florida.
