Nallur Lake Clean-Up Campaign
Our inspiration came from the need to protect and restore local water bodies while creating awareness among youth about environmental responsibility. Seeing waste, overgrown vegetation, and pollution around Nallur Lake motivated us to take action. Through this initiative, Scouts and volunteers came together to clean the surroundings, promote sustainable practices, and inspire the community to protect nature.
We executed the project with the active support and participation of the Nallur Village community and the Village President. Together with Scouts and NSS volunteers, we identified the lake’s waste and overgrown areas, organized cleaning activities, collected plastic and other waste, and cleared unwanted vegetation. Their cooperation helped strengthen community participation and promote environmental responsibility.
We learned that meaningful environmental change requires teamwork, community participation, and consistent effort. Working with the Nallur Village community and Village President taught us the importance of coordination, leadership, and responsible waste management. The project also strengthened our Scouts’ commitment to service, environmental conservation, and sustainable development while inspiring us to take continued action for cleaner and greener communities.
