Mangrove Planting Movement
I was inspired by the urgent need to protect North Jakarta’s coastline from erosion and restore lost mangrove ecosystems. Mangroves are powerful in fighting climate change, and I wanted to involve more youth in real, hands-on action. This project was about more than planting trees it was about growing awareness and responsibility together.
I started by coordinating with the Angke Kapuk Protected Forest management to secure the planting location. Then, I collaborated with NGO and others Students to recruit volunteers. We held briefings, prepared 3.850 mangrove seedling shizophora mucronata and Rhizophora stylosa and organized logistics for the planting day.
I learned that collaboration is a key to bringing people together makes the impact stronger. I also realized that environmental action needs good planning, not just passion. And even small steps, like planting one tree, can lead to bigger change
