Leading Peace through strategic action
The inspiration for this project came from witnessing the untapped potential of young people within our region and realizing how much impact they could have if given the right support. Many youth leaders are eager to drive change in their communities, yet they often lack the tools, strategic guidance, and platforms to channel their energy effectively.
The project was executed by integrating activities directly into the 10th Africa Scout Youth Forum and the 18th Africa Scout Conference in Madagascar. We designed youth-led workshops on leadership, strategic planning, and SDG alignment, ensuring that young leaders were actively involved in both designing and delivering the sessions. We also organized two exhibitions to showcase NSO innovations, Messengers of Peace projects, and youth-led community initiatives.
When young people are involved from the design stage, they take ownership, contribute innovative ideas, and are more committed to driving change.
This initiative is part of the Empowering youth for change through Scouting in Africa project, made possible by the longstanding support and partnership of Alwaleed Philanthropies through World Scouting Grants. Their continued commitment empowers young people across Africa to develop stronger leadership skills, take action in their communities, and play an active role in driving positive change through Scouting.
