Keep the railway station clean, ensure safe trave

Maijgaon Railway Station, located in Sylhet district of Bangladesh, is one of the country's key railway stations. Most trains stop here for passenger boarding and maintenance purposes. However, regular waste and garbage accumulation around the station disrupts cleanliness and causes water to pool, creating an environment conducive to harmful mosquito breeding. If the surrounding areas of the station are not kept clean, it can lead to inconvenience and even accidents.
The Green Bar Life Railway Open Scout Group, part of the Bangladesh Scouts Sylhet Railway District, recently undertook an environmental mission at the railway station. Our Scout and Rover Scout members worked together to clean up the station, sorting biodegradable from non-biodegradable waste for recycling and reuse. Special care was taken to separate plastic items. Through this collective effort, we successfully cleaned the station area, reaffirming our commitment to environmental protection.
Through our cleaning work at Maizgaon Railway Station, we have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of keeping our surroundings clean. By taking the initiative to clean the railway tracks and platform, we not only contributed to maintaining a cleaner environment but also experienced the value of fulfilling our responsibilities to the community. This work taught me how performing our duties correctly can bring about positive change.
