Food Palliative Distribution During the Ramadan
I started this project after seeing the challenges many families face during the fasting season, especially widows, elderly people, internally displaced families, and low-income households. As Youth Chairperson of the Nigeria Scout Youth Forum, I mobilized young people and volunteers to provide food support, helping vulnerable families and strengthening community solidarity during the fasting period.
The project involved planning with youth and community leaders to identify vulnerable households. Scouts coordinated logistics and distributed essential food items, while volunteers managed registration and community leaders ensured fairness. Follow-ups assessed impact and gathered feedback to strengthen support and guide future initiatives.
Key lessons learned: working with community leaders helps reach the right people, involving youth builds trust and energy, planning keeps the distribution organized, partnering with others makes the project stronger, and checking in afterward helps improve future efforts.
