From Candles to Cleanliness: Post-Undas Drive
Sct. Jovanie and the Rizal Council were inspired to launch this project to teach Scouts the value of service while caring for their community. By combining waste collection and cleaning of schools, cemeteries, and public spaces, the activity aimed to instill discipline, teamwork, and environmental stewardship, leaving a lasting positive impact on both Scouts and the community.
The Rizal Council organized Scouts into teams to clean cemeteries, schools, and public spaces after Undas. Equipped with gloves and trash bags, they collected waste, cleared debris, and restored cleanliness, while leaders ensured safety and guidance. The activity combined waste collection with maintenance, fostering teamwork, responsibility, and environmental awareness.
The Scouts and leaders of the Rizal Council learned that small acts of service make a big impact. They gained a deeper appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and environmental responsibility, realizing that caring for public spaces strengthens both the community and their sense of stewardship.
