From Bare to Green: Restoring Life to Our Shores
Driven by the urgent need to heal our coastlines, the project began as a call to restore what nature has lost. What was once a vulnerable shoreline is now a space of renewal—where mangrove roots take hold, ecosystems begin to thrive, and a community comes together with a shared purpose. Youth, volunteers, and local partners planted more than seedlings—they planted resilience, hope, and a future where the shore stands strong once again.
To restore the shoreline, scouts, students, teachers, and volunteers planted 890 mangrove seedlings at Banana Beach, Tagum City. Despite heat, mud, and limited tools, their teamwork and dedication turned restoration into reality—proving how united effort can protect our coasts for the future.
This project taught us that community teamwork and youth passion are key to restoring our environment. Even with challenges, dedication and cooperation showed that together, we can overcome obstacles and make a lasting difference. Preparedness and hands-on learning proved vital in nurturing true environmental care.
