Avocat Leadership & Peace Training

We were inspired by the need for stronger youth leadership and conflict resolution in our community. We wanted to empower these 63 participants to move from passive observers to active "Avocats" for peace, using the Messengers of Peace framework to drive positive social change through dialogue.
Our team of 5 organizers executed the project in three steps: Preparation: Designed the curriculum and managed registrations. Implementation: Delivered an interactive 8-hour workshop with modules on MoP values, conflict resolution role-play, and project-design. Evaluation: Concluded with a feedback session and certified the 63 new MoP Advocates.
What worked well: Alternating between theory and interactive role-play kept the energy high and helped participants grasp complex peace concepts quickly. What we learned: Managing 63 people in an 8-hour frame requires strict timekeeping. For future sessions, having smaller breakout groups led by dedicated facilitators would maximize individual participation.
