500 Mangrove Trees Planting with Local Scouts in-conjunction with World Wetlands Day

This 500 mangrove trees planting project was organised by Scouts of The World Voluntary Service Team from Penang, in-conjunction with World Wetlands Day which celebrate 2nd of February every years. This project was support from local scouts and financial support from State Government. Also with cooperative with Penang Inshore Fishermen Welfare Association. Other than this, Scouts of the World Voluntary Service Team have sell 200 of limited badges for fund raising. The objective of this project is to raise scouts and public awareness of Wetland values. 31 January 2015 SW voluntary service team members was gather to do preparation at SW base, Small Mangrove Education Center, such as removing out all the branches, clearing the bushes, moving the seedlings to mangrove forest and also arrange the trees according the designated area. Total 150 Scouts include public had participate in this meaningful event. Total 500 Trees had been recorded on a single day planting projects.
