Plastic Tide Turners ambassadors workshop in Kenya
For the past two days, Thursday 28th and Friday 29th March 2024, 21 rovers and leaders from the Western region of Kenya have been engaged in a tide turners plastic challenge workshop at Mabanga Agricultural Training Center in Bungoma County, Kenya. The participants are drawn from 4 counties, Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Vihiga. This is the second workshop of its kind this year, as part of the Kenya Scouts Association's plan to build the capacity of ambassadors of the tide turners plastic challenge and to increase the uptake of the challenge among young people. The ambassadors will be empowered to reach at least 400 young people each at the grassroot level.
Some of the topics that have been covered include Scouts for SDGs, social impact, measuring social impact, monitoring and evaluation, current environmental issues, the relevance of the plastic conversation among many other relevant topics. Additionally the participants have been given an opportunity to try out activities in the TTP action kit and discuss various ways in which they can localize the activities based on their communities and available resources.
The workshop will come to a close on Sunday 31st of March 2024.
