Celebration of International Peace Day at YadiCS

On 20th September 2024, Yadi Central School celebrated International Peace Day, marking the occasion a day early due to the Blessed Rainy Day holiday. The celebration aimed to cultivate a culture of peace, instill a peaceful mindset among students, and highlight the role of scouting in peace-building. The event also sought to raise awareness about the significance of International Peace Day and was celebrated with enthusiasm at the school level. The program began with the opening of the Scout Fest at 2:55 pm, followed by the lighting of a butter lamp by the school principal, who also serves as the commissioner. The Nazhoen scouts performed a peace song, setting the tone for the rest of the event. All teachers and students participated in various stations designed to promote peace and scouting values. These stations included learning about the history of scouting and Peace Day, knot-tying, first aid for responsible life-saving, jungle survival skills (with a fun bamboo dance), games, and scout yells and songs. Additional activities featured a photo booth with committed cards, a peace message board where participants pasted their peace messages, and the registration of new scouts. The event, held in and around the school’s multi-purpose hall, lasted for about an hour and ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks. This celebration not only marked International Peace Day but also reinforced the values of unity, responsibility, and peace within the school community.
