2018 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE CELEBRATIONS at DAKU PRIMARY SCHOOL IN NADOGO

1.0 INTRODUCTION School based International Day of Peace programme was organized at the school on Friday, the 21st of September, 2018 from 12.30 pm – 2.00 pm. Mr. Sashi Kant, the Head Teacher was the Guest Speaker for the programme. He spoke to the audience and highlighted the significance and importance of Peace through scouting, the Ministry of Educations stand on this and the roles of parents in keeping this Scouting/ Guiding spirit alive apart from school affaires. 2.0 PARTICIPATION All the leaders and students of Daku Primary took part in the programme. The audience participated well in the activities organized as well as danced on the Messengers of Peace beat. 3.0 THE PROGRAMME: The programme for the day was as follows: • Welcome by the M.C. – Bro. Ashnil. • Escorting of Chief Guest – by Assistant Scouts Teacher & Guides Teacher. • Prayer by Students • National Anthem • Scarfing of the Chief Guest - by School Head Boy • Address & Introduction of the Chief Guest – by. Head Teacher (Daku) • Cutting of Cake to do the official opening • Video Presentation – Life Vest • Activities: • Video Presentation – Share, Care, Love and Respect • Vote of Thanks – Bro. Kunnal ( District Commissioner) • M.O.P. Beat – by one and all. • Planting a Tree of Peace by the Chief Guest & Other Troops • Refreshment 4.0 REFRESHMENT: Refreshment was provided to all the students and Leaders and other well wishers by the school ( Daku Primary) Each student received a MOP Sticker, packet of BBC Mixed Bhuja with juice. The teachers also helped in re-organising all the furniture and utensils which were used during the programme. Thanks and appreciation is conveyed to all for their support. 6.0 CONCLUSION: Finally , my hearty thanks and appreciation goes to The Ministry of Education, Fiji Scouts Association, National MOP Coordinator and The Head Teacher of the host school, Mr. Sashi Kant for the approval to organise the above mentioned programme, Scouts/ Guides, other well wishers to be part of the programme. It was a indeed a very successful programme.
