To start, you need to identify one problem, question, or challenge in the world you would like to invent a solution for. You should try to identify the reason the problem exists and where an invention would make the biggest difference.
You are free to invent and innovate a prototype using the provided materials. The prototype is free to be as fantastic and unrealistic as it needs to be to solve the problem. It does, however, have to have clear thought behind it. It can't be a magic wand solving all the world's problems, but an underwater vacuum for cleaning the oceans could be a creative invention, for example.
Using the provided materials you are free to create as you see fit and add features or functions that make the invention better or even more stylish. Once you finish the activity, consider these questions and discuss them with your team:
- Why did you choose to address the problem you chose?
- Do you think your invention is possible in the future?
- If you were to do this activity again, which new problem would you choose to tackle?
