Youth Football Tournament
I wanted to provide an opportunity for local youth to be engaged in a positive weekend activity.
We advertised to local football teams. We reserved space at a local elementary school field and scheduled referees and games.
There were more than 400 players at the tournament and at least 400 spectators as well. Players learned to compete while maintaining sportsmanship and integrity.
We learned that bringing large groups of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds together can be a rewarding experience when done within a positive framework.
