White wash

My motivation for taking on this project came from the excitement and satisfaction of seeing people benefit from the work we carried out. I felt that even a small contribution could make a meaningful difference to the community, especially when the results of our efforts could be seen and appreciated by others. Our main goal was to restore the small stupa located along the way to Punakha and help preserve it as an important cultural and religious site. We wanted to improve its condition, make the surrounding area more presentable, and ensure that it could continue to be respected and appreciated by both local people and travelers. Working on the restoration also gave us an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our cultural heritage while serving the community. Seeing the restored stupa and knowing that our teamwork had made a positive difference gave me a strong sense of accomplishment and encouraged me to continue participating in activities that benefit others.

The whitewashing project took place on May 10, 2025. On this day, we came together as a team to carry out the whitewashing and maintenance work on the small stupa. Before beginning the work, we organized the necessary materials and divided the tasks among the participants so that everyone could contribute effectively. We worked together to clean and prepare the surface before applying the whitewash, paying attention to the details to ensure that the stupa was properly restored and looked clean and well-maintained. Throughout the activity, we supported and encouraged one another, making the work both productive and enjoyable. Although the task required time and effort, it was rewarding to see the stupa gradually regain its clean and beautiful appearance. The experience also strengthened our teamwork and gave us a greater appreciation for the importance of preserving our cultural and religious heritage.

I learned how to do things effectively and efficiently while painting the stupa. Moreover i learned to be independent as well as interdependent on my fellow scout mates while doing heavy works like carrying the cans of paint.
