Tree Plantation Campaign beside Kalu River, Sri Lanka.

We, Nalanda Scouts engaged in planting kumbuk(Terminalia arjuna) & bamboo trees beside the Kalu river on 29th of August 2020. The campaign was excuted together with the members of a premiere reforesting organization, 'Reforest SriLanka' near the treatment plantation of NWSDB (National Water Supply & Drainage Board), Kandana, Western Province. It was to increase the water level around the pumping area as well as decrease the bank eroison. The Kalu River is the largest river in Sri Lanka that carries the largest amount of water to the sea annually and this campaign has been able to contribute to the provision of safe drinking water to over 80,000 people in this area. The tree plantation campaign was cordinated by me for my president scout award.
