Soap for Hope
We were moved by the devastating 2024 floods in Rio Grande do Sul, which left many homeless and in need. Seeing the lack of hygiene products, we aimed to produce soaps to support the victims’ health and well-being.
We planned the project by gathering materials, raising funds, and producing 150 calendula soaps using milk cartons as molds. After packaging, we sent them to the Cruz Vermelha in Caxias do Sul for distribution to a local indigenous community.
The "Soap for Hope" project delivered 128 calendula soaps to the Cruz Vermelha in Caxias do Sul, aiding community affected by the 2024 Rio Grande do Sul floods. It supported hygiene needs, reducing health risks like leptospirosis, and contributed to the UN's SDG 3—Health and Well-Being.
We learned the importance of planning, setting clear deadlines, and maintaining consistent communication to avoid delays. Regular meetings and task delegation are key to improving efficiency and achieving better results in group projects.
