RECICLAMOR: Cultura Recicladora.
The consumption of materials that can be recycled is increasing and the space for our waste is decreasing. I was very motivated to carry out this project by wanting to give a second life to the materials that may have it, in order to contribute to my community in the construction of a better world with small daily actions. This is based on the reduction of the consumption of single-use materials and the recycling of usable materials.
The project was carried out in my neighborhood, using the place of my scout group we made a space for the storage of the collected recycling. With the support of the JAC and the Mi Sangre Foundation, we were able to formulate the project. The first step was to train ourselves, to then train the more than 20 stores in the area and finish with the awareness of the residents of the neighborhood about the consumption and management of the waste generated in each of their homes.
With this project, around 1,000 people in the community will be affected. Awareness campaigns were carried out among the inhabitants, pamphlets were distributed with the necessary information for waste management. Recyclers in the area also recognized that there was an increase in recyclable materials separated at the time of disposal. For its part, the Scout group receives the recycling of the scouts and this helps them obtain resources and create a culture of recycling in its members.
When carrying out this project, it was learned how the correct separation of waste generated at home should be and how important it is to carry out this action to contribute to the preservation of the planet.
We are surprised by the large amount of waste that can be used again for other products and how important recycling is to maintain the sustainability of the planet and prolong our existence on it.
Because small people, in small places with small actions are changing the world.
