Rebuild the Nation- Wall Cleaning & Graffiti
After the national revaluation event on 5th August 2024, the outer walls of Shideshwari Girl's College and the nearby Shideshwari Road were covered in graffiti and political markings. These visuals disrupted the peaceful and educational atmosphere of the college area. As a Scout committed to positive change, I led a wall cleaning and restoration initiative to return dignity, order, and cleanliness to the space.
Activities Conducted:
1. Surveyed graffiti-affected areas around Shideshwari Girl's College and Shideshwari Road.
2. Gathered cleaning materials, brushes, paint, and safety gear
3. Mobilized fellow Scouts and volunteers for collective action
4. Cleaned the college's outer walls and repainted affected surfaces.
Impact:
1. Reinstated a clean, peaceful look to a heavily trafficked public road
2. Promoted environmental responsibility and urban cleanliness
This project taught me that even simple actions like cleaning a wall can have a powerful social impact. It reminded me of the value of calm, constructive leadership during difficult times, and how Scouts can lead not just through words, but through meaningful service to the community.
