RCU08 handout foods to children at Cabanatuan

As a child, I have always been friends with children who play along the streets. Looking back, this influenced me to have a heart and empathy for them. Joining the scouting movement makes me of service to my countrymen and God. Seeing these children starve motivated me to join this project as well as other projects that has the same goal, which is to look after and feed children who are on the line of poverty.
After the Flag Retirement Ceremony that was held on the Historic Plaza Lucero in Cabanatuan City, the scouts from Rover Circle United 08 gave out food packs to 30 children that were seen on the said plaza.
Seeing the smile on the children’s face made me realize that there’s always a bit of light in a room of darkness. The impact made by our project maybe small compared to other projects but it still made others’ day. I also had a self-reflection from that project that we should work for a better place to provide for these children as well as for the future generations.
I have learned to be compassionate on the situations of others. We who are privileged enough should not turn blind eye on others, but rather, we should be the ones to encourage and advocate for change so that we are able to provide hope and a better world for others to live in. We should also be able to inspire others to do it likewise.
