PROJECT SUNSHINE 2017 PREPARATION

Project Sunshine is a Goodwill Cultural Exchange & Community Service Learning Project organised by the Scouts (17-26 years old) of Singapore Scouts Association and Cambodia Scouts. We hope to reach out to the rural community to improve their living conditions and foster friendship between Singapore and Cambodia. Scouts will inculcate the good values of giving and sharing through community interaction, cultural exposures and at the same time attaining global perspectives and knowledge. It is also themed in relation with World Scouting’s Messengers of Peace initiative. Messengers of Peace aims to inspire millions of Scouts who are doing amazing things in their local communities to tell the world about it, and thus inspire other Scouts to do even more to work for the cause of scouting in “Creating a Better World” Project Sunshine 2017 will benefit the 67 children at Enfants d'Asie ASPECA Orphanage in Takeo Province, Cambodia, through home improvement and non-formal educational programme organised by the scouts. Apart from service to the children home, we will also be visiting historically significant places like the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum to understand the importance of peace.
