Metropolitan District Park Clean up Pack 10, 777
Our Scouts and Families love this park, and we would like to help do our part of being a good citizen to help keep this park clean at all times. We decided to organize our distict scouters who would want to help clean up and beautify our parks. Scouts from Pack 10, 777, 130, 2131, 848 and others decided to join in on our fun and cause to help with the clean up.
We Walked all along the most popular trails and cleaned up all the trash that we could pick up. We had Trash bags with every adult and Scout. We had over 50 that attended, both scout and parents. and Leaders. After our 2 hour clean up we headed back to our dumped our trash in proper bins for disposal.
We learned that picking up trash with the buddy system was important, due to poision ivy, and snakes that could be dangerous for scouts and adults picking up trash. Also for safety measures. Using the buddy system, each scout were able to pick up more trash because they both had an extra pair of eyes to scan the area for trash. Also staying hydrated gave us more energy and to keep up with the two hour clean up project.
