International Peace Day

International Peace Day

We gathered at the gate at 9:00 am sharp and started with national anthem and scout anthem, followed by a simplified  speech by the girl rover club coordinator (me) and word of wisdom by the guest. The guest of honor started the day by planting a Cypress tree with lots of scouting spirit singing a ‘Ah Lele’ song. After that all the rovers came up with a peace pledge towards controlling climate change individually and then we headed with the main activity peace rally.

With the total of 52 members including one dedicated little cub some carrying banners, charts and some with the sacks to maintain cleanliness on the way till our destination we not just create awareness program but also made the roadside clean and green which is also a step taken as a society to reduce the factors effecting climate change.

While we were walking people stopped by and started reading the banner and the charts and some people were also taking photos. Thinking that young youths are really making an effort to control climate. On our way we made three different points whereby we did different yells to make the march not just effective but also to have fun.

The feedback we got are all positive by the guest of honor, society, we felt like it was a successful event when some of the non-rovers said they wanted to join rover scout clubs and seeing the youth taking serious path with the work done today, I feel we can make change and bring peace in the future.
