International Peace Day
According to the VIDEO MESSAGE BY ANTÓNIO GUTERRES, SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS, FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE, "Peace is at the heart of all our work at the United Nations. And we know peace is much more than a world free of war. It means resilient, stable societies where everyone can enjoy fundamental freedoms and thrive rather than struggle to meet basic needs."
On 21st of September, 2019, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College conducted a program on promoting peace based on the theme for the year, i.e., 'Climate Action for Peace'. focusing on new danger: the climate emergency, which threatens our security, our livelihoods and our lives. The program was not just some powerpoint presentation but was full of fun. Games and different fun activities were organised to involved the Youths to advocate them about the peace thread we were facing and the near consequence we might be in.
I contributed in conveying the message and making the theme more clear to all the participants. I conducted session of minimum 15 minutes for 5 groups having approximately 40 to 50 members each. In continution to explainng about the International Peace Day, I took the opportunity to spreed the message of Messenger of Peace as well - One of the Active Youth Organisation in Promoting Peace.
