Helping Hands for Flood Victims.
Seeing the suffering of flood-affected families in Cumilla, especially those who lost their homes and access to food and water, inspired us to take action. We wanted to support them with immediate relief and bring hope during a difficult time.
We raised funds within our unit and prepared 1,750 relief packages, each containing rice, oil, lentils, salt, potatoes, oral saline, drinking water, and hygiene items. The packages were distributed in Burichong, Cumilla, benefiting around 7,000 people. Members of the Metropolitan University Rover Scout Group, with support from locals and police, carried out the distribution through careful planning and teamwork.
This project taught us the true impact of collective action and community service. We learned that even in times of crisis, proper planning, teamwork, and compassion can bring real hope to people in need. It also helped us develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting.
