Healing with Heart: Medical Camp for the Elderly
The project was inspired by a deep sense of social responsibility and compassion for the elderly, who often lack access to regular healthcare. Witnessing their vulnerability motivated us to extend medical support and emotional care. We believe that ensuring their well-being is a way of honoring their contributions to society and spreading kindness where it’s most needed.
We collaborated with Sri Sairam Siddha Medical College and the Bharat Scouts and Guides for a medical outreach program. Our team visited Rehoboth Rehabilitation Centre, Mettur, to provide health check-ups for residents of orphanages and old age homes. With coordinated planning, medical support, and volunteer participation, we ensured the event was compassionate, efficient, and impactful, aligning with our commitment to service and SDG goals.
The project taught us the value of empathy, teamwork, and community service. We learned how small efforts can make a big difference in the lives of the elderly and underprivileged. It also enhanced our organizational and communication skills, while reinforcing the importance of healthcare accessibility. Most importantly, we realized the joy and fulfillment that comes from serving others selflessly.
