Cubscouts, BoyScouts, And Girl Scouts helped their community clean up their local waterways. Girl Scouts in Girl Scout Troop 3029 and cubscouts in Pack 37 helped clean up along the Ouachita river in their hometown of West Monroe, LA. This was a community wide annual project that was also featured in the local news paper. The exact amount of trash collected was measured and documented. Our troop found and properly disposed of a box of hypodermic needles. Another group also found and properly disposed of used needles as well. (I only included the number that participated in my group. I am unsure of the total that participated from the community. It was in the hundreds I know.)
