“It is better to give than to receive.” - a biblical verse which every human being tries to embody for it is truly a blessing to be a blessing to others. The Alliance of Batangan Leaders and Devoted Eagle Scouts, A – BLADES, yearly conducts its outreach program as its gift giving event for the month of December in celebration of the Christmas season. Through the efforts of its members, the group raised funds to conduct the said project. It was held last December 12, 2015 and the chosen beneficiary was the Aeta Community situated at Putting Kahoy, Rosario Batangas City. The activity threw a party for the 68 families. Each family received a package consisting of goods for their consumption. More than 200 children from day care to grade 12 were given school supplies such as bags and writing and coloring materials. Tons of books were also donated by the group. Also, as a request of the youth, A-BLADES donated balls for basketball and volleyball to the community. And for the party’s highlight, the group prepared meals and hired a mascot that surely made all the children smile. The activity was a success and it was never goodbye for the group for such activity will always be done to provide service to the community.
