Empower adults in community-based scout troops
Community based scouts are supported by volunteers, but the lack of volunteers is a factor that hinders the growth of scouts. Therefore, engaging more community members (such as parents) by creating a platform of learner led methodology to provide information about scouts and identifying ways to serve as scouts is the key to enhance the ability of community action.
For engaging community to have information on scouting, the following mechanism were in place:
1. National workshop for community scout key leaders: Scouts for SDGs in community activities and scout advancement
2. Capacity building workshop: Scouts for SDGs in aboriginal tribe community
3. Capacity building workshop: SDGs integrate with Youth program in community
4. Capacity building workshop: Scouts for SDGs in community
With the implementation of the national workshop we witnessed 300 parents and volunteers of community based scout troops. These community volunteers are empowered about the latest youth program and scout methods. In addition to this, they now are able to integrate SDGs into troop activities. The project directly engage 240 adults and 470 young people while engaging 4200 young peoples and 440 adults as an indirect beneficiaries as a whole.
