Our troop decided to utilize the holiday season and ask for donations to be able to have a clothing drive and distribute those donations to the homeless of Denver Colorado. We're pleased to say we had most donations by our sponsoring church, local businesses, and co-workers, and made a positive impact on members of the community and meeting some of their basic needs. The scouts also had a good experience meeting with this growing population of individuals and learned about them and their struggles. This project contacted roughly 30-40 individuals of the inner city Denver area, and provided coats, pants, socks, hats, gloves and other clothing items needed for the brutal winter already making conditions difficult.
