Climate Hero Rover Moot Bogor City Council
Education on the Climate Crisis and Climate Change is crucial for scouts, as scouting education encompasses values of environmental stewardship and love for nature, which are enshrined in the Scout Law. This necessity motivates me to organize the Climate Hero workshop at Rover Moot (Raimuna) Bogor City Council in 2024.
The Climate Hero workshop consists of a 3-hour session covering material and a 1-hour discussion on Climate 101, Call to Action, and Theory of Change. Participants will be provided with knowledge and real-life examples of the climate crisis that has already occurred, as well as an examination of climate issues in their environments. Based on these issues, participants will be asked to develop solutions and actions to adapt and mitigate the climate crisis within their local context.
It has become evident that the scouts are already aware of the environmental issues and climate crisis occurring in their surroundings. The remaining task is for us to collectively devise concrete actions to ensure effective mitigation and adaptation to the climate crisis within scouting activities.
