Clean Water & Adolescent Awareness Initiative

In many rural parts of Bangladesh, especially in remote char areas, people are often unaware of essential practices related to personal hygiene, safe drinking water, and adolescent health. To address this gap, Crystal Open Scouts Group launched a four-day awareness project from March 16 to March 19, 2023, at Scout Char, Lalmonirhat. The initiative aimed to educate local residents—particularly students about maintaining hygiene and understanding the changes that occur during adolescence.

During this impactful project, we: Conducted demonstrations on proper handwashing techniques to prevent illness. Taught the community how to build low-cost water filters for clean drinking water. Organized clean-up campaigns to improve environmental hygiene around water sources. Led interactive sessions with adolescents, especially girls, focusing on physical and emotional changes, personal care, and safe practices. These efforts contributed directly to Sustainable Development

This project gave me the opportunity to: Develop strong communication skills by interacting with diverse community members. Adapt to challenging rural conditions, enhancing my problem-solving abilities. Make a real difference while gaining insights into public health issues in underserved communities.
